INTRODUCTION : DEFINITION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

 

The word entrepreneur was first introduced in 1970 during the launch of the New Economic Policy. It's not a new thing to us. During the days of Malacca, those who engage in business as a merchant called while in 1900 they were known as traders.  The word entrepreneur has the same meaning as the English word 'entrepreneur'. The word 'entrepreneur' is derived from the French word, 'entreprendre' which means assume the duties or responsibilities. The word 'entrepreneur' has been used since 1775 by Richard Cantillon, which refers to activities in entrepreneurship. Kamus Dewan New Edition defines entrepreneur as a person who operates a company of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneur intended as a massive job to make things work in business or industry in a big way.

According Hisrich and Peter (1998). Entrepreneurship is a dynamic process of wealth creation. Wealth is created by individuals who bear a substantial risk in equity, time, and commitment to their careers or provide value to a product or service. Entrepreneurship is the process of creating something new with regard to time, effort than dealing with financial risk, psychological, and social processes and benefit financially, personal satisfaction and freedom. While Kuratko and Hodgetts (2004) defines entrepreneurship as a process of innovation and creation through the four dimensions of individual organizations. environmental, and process network in collaboration with government, education, and the constitution. Entrepreneurship is also a business activity created by someone who interpret environmental conditions, identify opportunities, using materials carrying ideas, raise wealth and promote social welfare. In general, entrepreneurship can be formulated as a successful entrepreneur treatment using the opportunities and resources available to achieve personal goals, such as profiting from a business built. The goal is for the benefit of his own for a long time and can help develop the national economy.

In summary can be stated that entrepreneurship as a human quality that is not only beneficial to himself but he can develop the economy rapidly and contribute to others. It is the process of creating and managing the business to achieve the desired objectives.
